A 32-year-old motorcycle rider died while his wife was injured after a speeding jeepney slammed into their motorcycle along F.S. Samano Road, Barangay 175, on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Police said the jeepney was counterflowing when it hit the victims.
The rider was declared dead on arrival at the hospital while his 29-year-old wife remains confined for treatment.
The jeepney driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled.
Authorities later confirmed his identity and said he will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, serious physical injury, and damage to property.
The accident left the couple’s two young daughters without a father, while the family appeals for justice and financial support to cover medical expenses.
Authorities withheld the name of the driver pending further investigation.
