Las Piñas cops seize over P108K marijuana leaves

A 22-year-old man was arrested in possession of P108,300 worth of dried marijuana leaves during the conduct of a drug buy-bust operation on Sept. 28 in Las Piñas City.

Las Piñas Police Chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspect as Rey, a resident of Barangay Pulanglupa Uno, Las Piñas City. He was arrested at around 10:00 a.m. at Lucky Homes, Barangay Pulanglupa Uno, Las Piñas City.

Tafalla said members of the Las Piñas Police Daniel Fajardo Substation conducted an operation for the arrest of the suspect who was being accused of being the source of dried marijuana leaves in the barangay.

Confiscated from Rey were three plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves worth P108,300. These were turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for examination.

Rey was detained at the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility after his arrest and charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against him.
