The titles
In his book "Ethics, Justice, and Recognition: Essays on Critical Theory," author Paolo Bolaños undertakes the task of exploring three of the main philosophical preoccupations of the Frankfurt School─ethics, justice, and recognition. He seeks to answer what critical theory is, reconstruct Adorno's philosophy from the standpoint of a damaged life, probe art's critical role in society and the relationship between aesthetics and ethics, and highlight Honneth's spheres of recognition to articulate a materialist philosophical anthropology. Bolaños teaches philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Letters and the Graduate School of the University of Santo Tomas.
Enchanting and oftentimes incantatory, "Engkanto in the Diaspora" haunts with a voice that is both ravishing and ravished, a buzzing, restless entity whose porosity delightfully knows no bounds in the face of memory and the sensory world. This new collection takes the reader across landscapes of nostalgia, racial identity, diaspora, and history in the poet's assured yet unpredictable craft. Hailed as one of the foremost Filipino-American poets of the twenty-first century, Eileen R. Tabios is the author of over 70 books of poetry, fiction, essays, art, and experimental writing.
Award-winning essayist and pop culture writer Chuck D. Smith explores a life defined by a lie in his book "Son of a Dead ‘80s Bold Star." He was raised to believe he was the biological son of Pepsi Paloma, a controversial ’80s Philippine actress who died tragically in her teens. This collection of personal essays and entertainment reportages chronicles Smith's journey to make sense of this inherited identity, detailing the grief, joys, and self-discovery he experienced while navigating the exciting and tumultuous world of Philippine show business. Smith obtained his Journalism degree from UST.
Regarding the "Face of Others" examines the extraordinary meanings that arise from experiences of abjection in modern life, including racialization, disfiguration, and dehumanization. In this utterly original and discipline-defying book, Charlie Samuya Veric takes a long hard look at defacements that result from social difference to imagine alternative ways of human becoming. Veric is Vice Chair of the Humanities Division of the National Research Council of the Philippines and Founding Director of the Literary and Cultural Studies Program at the Ateneo de Manila University.
"Super Panalo Sounds!" is the first novel by award-winning writer Lourd de Veyra, who is also the main man for the rock band Radioactive Sago Project. This book takes the readers on the rough-and-tumble journey of the greatest band you’ve never heard, rock and roll, and the depths of the human soul. We witness both the exhilaration and the ravages wrought by the rock scene. Tracing Pinoy rock history while creating its own alternative mythos, where rock gods walk on water, bands record mythical albums and then vanish from the scene, and kids from Projects 2-3 can change the world with music. Super Panalo Sounds! is a mind-opening, mind-altering cautionary tale of how high and how low you can go when you're rocking and rolling. Lourd de Veyra is a writer, visual artist, musician, and presenter for radio and television.

At present, USTPH titles are distributed nationwide via e-commerce platforms and circulated around Metro Manila through major bookstore chains and independent booksellers. They are also housed in the USTPH Bookstore, centrally located on campus at the historic UST Main Building. It stands out as the only university campus bookstore that maintains a current selection of academic and trade books from the most active university presses in the country, as well as from commercial and independent publishers, effectively positioning itself as the primary book hub exclusive to Philippine publications in Manila's vibrant university belt.
