Starting October 1, 2025, certain direct cash-in transactions to GCash will be routed through InstaPay, in compliance with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) directive requiring all online banks and e-wallets to adopt InstaPay. This measure is intended to ensure faster, safer, and more transparent fund transfers across the country.
GCash confirmed that it will not impose direct cash-in fees under the new InstaPay model. However, some partner banks may implement adjustments to their own service fees in line with their individual policies. Customers are advised to check with their respective banks for transition schedules and updated charges.
To facilitate a smooth transition, GCash announced that on September 30, existing linked online bank accounts will be automatically delinked from the GCash app. To relink, users must follow these steps:
1. Tap Cash In
2. Select Local Banks
3. Choose Link Bank Account
4. Select the preferred bank
GCash advised customers to verify updated fees with their banks and plan cash-in transactions accordingly.
The company emphasized its commitment to keeping services safe, seamless, and affordable while continuing to coordinate with partner banks and regulators to provide better customer experiences.
