DPWH engineer killed in road mishap

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Department of Public Works and Highways engineer was killed when his car rammed a backhoe in a road construction site here last Saturday, Sept. 27.

Police identified the victim as Engr. Farad Abduraup.

Investigation disclosed that Fahad was driving his vehicle at high speed on the diversion road in Sitio Balinsungay in Barangay Mercedes where a road construction project was being implemented and failed to heed a warning signal from one of the spotters to slow down.

His vehicle collided with a parked backhoe operated by 24-year-old Jay-Ar de Jesus. The victim was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
