The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) awarded new homes to graduating Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in San Mateo, Rizal.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the collaboration ensures families moving from poverty alleviation to self-sufficiency continue to receive government support through safe and affordable housing.
The partnership, formalized through a Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) signed by Aliling and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, aligns 4Ps with the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
Gatchalian said the integration of the two programs will expand opportunities for poor families to acquire resilient and affordable housing, sustaining the benefits of social protection.
The turnover ceremony at Abuab Towers—a 17-building, 4,330-unit project in San Mateo—featured three graduating 4Ps families receiving their new units under the pilot program.
Aliling said the initiative embodies the vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas,” where coordinated shelter and welfare programs build not just houses but dignified futures for Filipino families.
The program also demonstrates the government’s push for cross-agency integration, optimizing resources to meet housing demand, promote sustainable development, and support inclusive growth through large-scale residential projects.
