- The former actor took to social media to break his silence relating ongoing talk about him and wife Ellen Adarna supposedly calling it quits.
Derek Ramsay decided to start his Monday by shutting down the rumor mill relating his supposed split from wife Ellen Adarna—while still in bed.
In an Instagram Story posted September 29, the actor, looking very much like he just woke up, said, “Good morning, guys. There’s this issue with Mr. Xian Gaza. I’ll just keep it very simple. There’s no truth to anything that was said. That’s it guys, that’s all I have.”
Derek’s sleepy-yet-pointed PSA arrived only hours after the notorious social media personality lit Facebook on fire with a series of blind items.
On Sunday, Gaza claimed a “billionaire celebrity” had split from an heiress with properties in Visayas and Mindanao, and that the “power couple” share a child whom the heiress is supposedly keeping from the billionaire.
He didn’t stop there.
Gaza followed up by talking about the Philippines’ lack of divorce laws and wondering aloud if a prenup existed.
In the comments, he even tossed in the initials “JL.”
He said: “Si JL hindi niya pinakasalan kasi wala siyang mapapala. Ang makukuha lang niya ay kalahati ng lupa sa paso at limang banig ng [brand]. Pero etong isa, pinakasalan niya agad-agad after a few months of relationship. Pinagplanuhan. Mautak.”
Of course, everyone knows who JL is – as in the actor John Lloyd Cruz, with whom Ellen shares a son.
But Ellen was way ahead of the chatter.
Earlier in September she posted, “Tigilan niyo na kami ha. Dami na fake news ekeklavooo.”
So, for the record: Derek and Ellen say they’re fine—now can everyone let them finish their nap?
