Heart Evangelista (Facebook)
Sparkle Artist Center has responded to recent "fake news" circulating online that Heart Evangelista has been dropped by two brands she endorses.
The talent agency issued a statement on social media, urging the public to be vigilant and not be misled by false information, stating, "Fake news alert! This is not true. Don't be fooled by fake news! Always be vigilant when reading articles online."
Heart Evangelista continues to receive strong support from her fans, boasting a significant online presence with 16.2 million followers on Instagram, 7.5 million on Facebook, and 7.9 million on TikTok.
Born Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco, Heart comes from a prominent lineage. Her father's side, the Chinese-Filipino Ongpauco clan, co-founded the Barrio Fiesta restaurant chain, while her mother's side, the del Gallego clan, owns a sugar plantation in Camarines Sur. She is the youngest of five children and spent part of her childhood in America before returning to the Philippines to begin her successful career in entertainment.
Over her nearly three-decade career, she has achieved fame as an actress, singer, and artist, evolving into a fashion icon who paved the way for Filipino participation in European Fashion Weeks.
As Heart shared on Instagram Live, she has worked diligently to achieve a comfortable life. She expressed her frustration with unfair accusations, stating, "The sad reality at this point, it's very hurtful that as an independent woman like myself... goddammit, I am so independent... I am so hardworking and I have pride in what I do. I'm not the type of wife who just sits around at home, and just chats with friends. I work. I refuse to just be a useless wife at home. I will continue to work."
Heart also previously announced her decision to skip this season's Fashion Weeks in Milan and Paris, apologizing to fans who anticipated her presence on the international runways.
She explained her reasoning, saying, "I'm sorry for my fans that I'm not going to Fashion Week. I know that you guys say 'laban, laban.' I really appreciate you. But honestly, I don't think it's the right time for anyone, especially from our country, to be going to Fashion Week because I think we need to be here. Not necessarily to be in the rally... but it's important that we open our eyes, and we truly become one and empathize and really see what's going on, and see what we can do."
Heart clarified that this is not a permanent hiatus and hinted at a possible return "maybe next season."
Regarding her marriage to Senator Chiz Escudero, there have been surprising accusations against him concerning their prenuptial agreement.
Heart clarified that the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, whom she considered a second mother, handled most of her contracts when she was younger and had insisted on the prenup with her now-husband.
