The Quezon City government held its first-ever Mooncake Festival on Sunday, Sept. 28, highlighted by the unveiling of a 39-inch, 100-kilogram giant mooncake.
The day-long celebration, organized by the Quezon City Tourism Department in partnership with the QC Association of Filipino Businessmen Inc., transformed the city’s Chinatown District into a hub of color, food, and festivities.
Participants enjoyed the traditional Mooncake Dice Game, lantern parade, and live performances from celebrities.
The Mooncake Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a centuries-old tradition observed by Chinese communities worldwide.
This year’s celebration in the city highlighted the values of unity, gratitude, and prosperity—while showcasing the vibrance of its Filipino-Chinese heritage.
