Taiwan Expo 2025: Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion featured 21 healthcare brands, presenting their products and services to Filipino guests.
Taiwan Expo, a government-backed program that promotes Taiwanese products and innovation in neighboring countries, showcased its best brands this year at the Taiwan Expo 2025 in the Philippines, held at the SMX MOA Convention Center from September 17 to 19. Inside the expo were a wide range of lifestyle, tech, disaster protection, and healthcare products and services.
The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion brought together a diverse range of healthcare brands, showcasing solutions that span clinical services, smart medical technologies, and wellness products. Among them, several stood out for their strong potential to benefit Filipinos — whether as patients, healthcare providers, or hospital and clinic owners—by offering innovative approaches to care and greater access to advanced treatments.
Comprehensive healthcare
Leading Taiwanese hospitals unveiled a range of pioneering healthcare services at the pavilion, highlighting state-of-the-art therapies, tailored diagnostic solutions, and forward-thinking approaches to patient care. The Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital is recognized for its comprehensive care and advanced therapies. Among its breakthroughs is the Autologous Bone Marrow–Derived Stem Cell therapy that helped a paralyzed patient walk again, proof of its clinical expertise and innovation. The hospital also offers therapies and advanced diagnostic services for neurodegenerative and urinary diseases, conditions common in the Philippines. With Taiwan’s advanced treatments now more accessible through regular flights and a new partnership with Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center in Manila, Filipinos can look forward to easier access to care and shared knowledge in both modern and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

A leading medical center with 42 specialized departments, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital also stood out. Its international healthcare center houses highly qualified units for the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of diseases, offering more than 900 beds to provide top-quality medical services to the community. What sets it apart is that it offers Mabuhay Executive Health Package, designed exclusively for Filipinos. This package includes comprehensive health screening with advanced precision tools for early detection—featuring AI-assisted endoscopy and colonoscopy, access to high-end diagnostic studies, expert consultations without long waiting times, secure data storage with mobile app access, a seamless and comfortable care journey, and VIP airport transfers.
Additionally, Taoyuan General Hospital—officially known as Taoyuan General Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare—also caught the visitors’ interest. It is a designated facility for TB and AIDS treatment, a gateway hospital for travelers arriving in Taiwan through the nearby airport, and an emergency response center. The hospital provides tests and screenings using advanced medical diagnostic equipment, including the Comprehensive D for CTA, Head, and Neck MRI; Circulating Tumor Cells testing for detecting cancer cells in the blood; Prestige-B for PET-CT; and Prestige-C for PET-CT and GI Endoscopy. These screening packages include physical and laboratory examinations, basic measurements, abdominal ultrasound, and other disease-specific tests.
Smart medical innovations
Smart medical innovations are also transforming the way healthcare is delivered, making it more precise, efficient, and patient-centered. Devices such as smart wearables and biosensors continuously monitor vital signs, like heart rate and glucose levels, sending real-time data to healthcare providers for remote patient monitoring.
One of the medical innovations that made an impression during the event was Quan Xin International Ltd. (Ambersan), a brand that specializes in development and manufacturing of medical devices. Its main product is the Enhanced External Counterpulsation Device, a non-invasive machine that helps improve blood flow to the heart. It utilizes the ECG R-wave to trigger the signal, making the system precisely synchronize cuff inflation at the early diastolic phase. Its process reduces strain on the heart while boosting circulation, offering new hope for patients with heart conditions.
Meanwhile, BioSenseTek Corp., a research and design company specializing in the development of bioelectrical and physiological sensors and signal processing instruments, presented its HR2000 wearable telemetry solution. It is a comprehensive system that integrates medical internet of things, remote patient monitoring, and central monitoring. One of the key features of this device is the remote real-time transmission and recording of the vital signs that can be viewed at a central monitoring station, making it highly useful for hospitals and remote patient care.

There is also an AI-powered medical imaging and diagnostic software for early detection of eye-diseases presented by Acer Medical Inc. Called VeriSee, the software can instantly analyze retinal images and flag potential cases of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. When paired with Acer’s portable ARC-1000 fundus camera, it allows community clinics and rural health centers to offer screenings that would otherwise require travel to big hospitals. For Filipinos, this means shorter waiting times, wider access to eye care, and better chances of preventing blindness linked to diabetes.
Far East Medical Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. (FEMET) showcased solutions for self-home healthcare management and telemedicine, offering patients the chance to monitor their health remotely. Rural communities often struggle with limited access to clinics, these devices aim to bridge the gap between doctors and patients, making care more inclusive. The team shared that they are open to collaborations, and, in fact, have visited areas in Cebu and Manila recently to build partnerships and make their services and products available to Filipinos.
