CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Calabarzon reported that 24,814 families in 849 barangays in the region have been affected by past weather disturbances.
As of Sept. 27, 4 p.m., more than 20,900 families are still staying in evacuation centers or relatives and friends. Sixteen thousand, five-hundred are staying in 795 evacuation centers.
Four-hundred eighty-six families are in the province of Quezon.
DSWD-Calabarzon continues to provide support to local governments and has distributed P4.99 million in assistance to affected families.
Agency officials said they are ensuring continued collaboration with local governments to better address the needs of affected families, especially those still in evacuation centers.
