Pickup truck falls into MRT-7 pit, snarls traffic along Commonwealth Avenue

A pickup truck crashed into barriers and fell into an MRT-7 construction pit along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Saturday morning, Sept. 27, briefly causing heavy traffic in the area.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported that the incident occurred near Don Antonio Heights, heading toward Elliptical Road, at around 7 a.m. 
The vehicle rammed through plastic delineators before plunging into the excavation site.
Authorities confirmed that the driver and passengers were unharmed. 
MMDA said that the driver may have fallen asleep, leading to the accident.
It added that personnel were immediately dispatched to clear the site and ease traffic congestion. 
Motorists were advised to remain cautious and allot additional travel time when passing through the Commonwealth stretch.
