BI arrests 2 foreigners for 'child exploitation, indigency'
An American man has been arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for alleged production and distribution of child exploitation materials.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Sept. 27, the BI identified the American as Robin Hoyt Alderman, 66, was arrested by the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) last Sept. 16 in Barangay 186, Tala, Caloocan City.
During Alderman’s arrest, the BI said its BI-FSU agents also encountered a Nigerian national identified as Boedubamo Immotimi Philip, 38, who has an active derogatory record for indigency.
It said that the two foreigners have been turned over to the bureau’s detention facility pending their deportation.
Alderman was tagged as an undesirable alien after the BI received information from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Child Protection Center (WCPC) that he was reportedly involved in sexual activities with minors, the BI said.
It said that the American was also tagged for possession, production, and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM).
It also said the arrest of the two foreigners was part of the BI’s #Shieldkids campaign which seeks to protect members of the country’s vulnerable sector from exploitation by foreign nationals.
