QC LGU evacuates over 1,700 families from flood-prone areas
The Quezon City government has carried out preemptive evacuation in flood-prone barangays as part of its safety measures ahead of Typhoon “Opong.”
As of 11:00 a.m. on September 26, 2025, a total of 1,780 families or 6,038 individuals have been evacuated and are currently staying in designated shelters across the city.
The evacuation sites were prepared in advance in flood-prone and landslide-risk areas to ensure a safe and orderly transfer of residents.
The Department of Engineering, also conducted drainage declogging operations in several areas.
The initiative aims to prevent flooding caused by heavy rainfall and to ensure the safety of residents.
The city government assured that such measures will continue to keep major roads and communities safe and passable, especially during the typhoon season.
