Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered the immediate setting up of modular tents, sleeping mats, food packs, potable water, and basic medical needs.
Olivarez came out with an order to ensure that families who will be affected by flooding have a safe place to go to.
The mayor also wants evacuation centers in the city to have a friendly space for children.
Olivarez said the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office-National Capital Region is coordinating with the city government for immediate assistance to displaced families.
He advised residents to remain vigilant, especially those living in flood-prone areas, and heed advisories from the local government.
The city government, through the Emergency Local Operation Center, continues to monitor weather updates and assures the public that the city is prepared for the possible impact of tropical storm Opong.
