Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon raised the status of the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from blue to red alert due to severe tropical storm “Opong.”

He issued Alert Memorandum No. 2025-004 on Sept. 25 ordering that the red alert status will “remain in effect until further notice or until the situation normalizes.”

“All concerned response agencies are hereby directed to maintain stand-by readiness and prepare for full-scale response operations, if necessary. For the information and strict compliance of all concerned,” he said.

Biazon said monitoring and coordination will continue to ensure the safety of residents.

Under the red alert status, according to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, the Muntinlupa Operations Center is fully activated and will monitor 24/7.

Rescue and medical teams are on full standby while emergency vehicles, equipment, and personnel are positioned in critical areas in the city.

The Lake Management Office also prohibited any type of watercraft to go out or fish in Laguna Lake as a precaution.

The out-patient department of the Ospital ng Muntinlupa will be operational.

Biazon said all health centers in Muntinlupa are open on Sept. 26.
