Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano has mobilized the City Engineering Office personnel to inspect drainage systems and clear waterways of debris in order to prevent flooding in low-lying areas.
Rubiano said the engineering team visited San Juan, Menlo, and Donada Streets, including the stretch of Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue, to check on the drainage system.
She said that response vehicles were also prepared for possible clearing operations in case of reports of fallen trees, collapsed structures, or road obstructions.
Transport boats have been positioned at the Pasay City Hall lobby, ready to address emergency cases during heavy rainfall that may cause flooding.
Rubiano said that the team, together with other response units, will work round-the-clock to ensure that they can immediately respond to any impact that Tropical Storm Opong may bring.
She told residents to cooperate with local authorities and stay updated on advisories.
