After weeks of battling it out on the catwalk, "Project Runway" has crowned Filipino designer Veejay Floresca as the winner of its 21st season.
In the finale, Veejay went head-to-head with fellow finalists Jesus Estrada and Ethan Mundt (famously known as Utica Queen from "RuPaul’s Drag Race"). Each presented a five-piece collection, which was judged by Elle magazine editor-in-chief Nina Garcia, image architect Law Roach, host and model Heidi Klum, and guest judge Michael Kors. Veejay wowed the panel with her final runway of metallics and knits.
The win marks a full-circle moment for Veejay, who first competed in the inaugural season of "Project Runway Philippines" in 2008. Now based in New York, the proud trans woman designer has built her craft around sustainable practices, creating one-of-a-kind garments while minimizing environmental impact and championing ethical production methods.
In 2024, she also joined "Dress My Tour," a series that takes fans behind the curtain of the unpredictable worlds of fashion and music.
Slay, Veejay!
