Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered on Thursday, Sept. 25, the emergency and preparedness response offices to prepare for the impact of Typhoon Opong.
Emergency and response teams began dismantling billboard tarpaulins, which may endanger the lives of residents.
Rubiano also ordered the bundling of electric wires in Barangay 190 and the installation of steel plates on canals along Aurora Boulevard corner Andrews Avenue.
The teams also placed PVC pipes at the canals in Barangay 79 to ensure that no garbage would hamper the smooth flow of water.
The Pasay City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) is readying the emergency response assets, including vehicles, for immediate deployment during the storm.
Rubiano said the clearing team from the Engineering Office has been on standby, ready to protect the residents.
