Embassy of Finland in Manila opens 2025 Climate Honours Diploma nominations
The Embassy of Finland in Manila has officially launched a call for nominations for the 2025 Finnish Climate Honours Diploma, a prestigious recognition awarded to a journalist in the Philippines who has shown exceptional dedication to reporting on climate and environmental issues.
Across the globe, climate actors are working relentlessly to safeguard the planet for future generations. As part of the Finnish Climate Collaboration, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland honors these efforts through its Climate Honours Diploma program. Delivered via Finland’s global network of embassies, the award celebrates individuals and small organizations that lead the charge in climate action.
This year, the spotlight turns to the Philippines, where the Embassy of Finland in Manila will present the Climate Honours Diploma to a journalist whose work has significantly advanced public awareness and dialogue around climate change and environmental sustainability.
The Embassy invites nominations for journalists who meet the following criteria:
Have demonstrated excellence in reporting on climate change, environmental sustainability, or related topics
Have contributed meaningfully to public understanding or policy discussions through their work
Are based in or actively reporting in the Philippines
The Climate Honours Diploma will be formally presented at an awards ceremony on October 10, 2025, celebrating the journalist’s impactful contributions to climate discourse.
Nominations are open until September 26, 2025. To nominate a journalist, please visit the official submission link: https://www.lyyti.fi/questions/99ff78c3ec
