Calumpit Bulacan police officers waded through floodwaters on Wednesday, Sept. 24, to assist residents and motorists affected by heavy flooding caused by Typhoon “Nando.”
Acting Calumpit Police Chief Lt. Col. Leopoldo Estorque Jr. was seen wading through waist-deep waters to personally check on passing vehicles and ensure that motorists could safely reach their destinations.
Together with his team, Estorque also visited flood-hit communities to remind residents about disaster preparedness, the importance of staying vigilant against crime, and the need for cooperation with authorities during emergencies.
Police presence in the area, officials said, was meant not only to respond quickly to the public's needs but also to reassure residents that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is ready to respond to any crisis.
Bulacan police director Col. Angel Garcillano lauded the initiative of the Calumpit police and described it as a clear display of dedication to public service.
“This is proof of the unwavering concern and dedication of your police to provide protection, strengthen community ties, and be a partner in maintaining peace and order, especially during times of disaster," Garcillano said.
