'Bukas kotse' nabbed for stealing from pickup truck in Makati
A 32-year-old tricycle driver was arrested for breaking the window of a parked pickup truck and trying to steal from it along Osmeña Highway corner Estrella Street in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City, early Thursday morning.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as alias Edmar, a resident of Tondo, Manila.
Based on the police report, Edmar and his 21-year-old cohort identified as alias John, were spotted by roving police officers breaking the passenger-side window of a white Ford Ranger.
Edmar was caught by the policemen while John managed to escape onboard a motorcycle.
The police recovered a .38 caliber revolver with live ammunition, a screwdriver, a backpack full of assorted clothes, and other items used for stealing.
Edmar will be charged with robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and violation of the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act before the Makati City Prosecutor's Office.
Meanwhile, a manhunt operation was launched for John's arrest.
