Town center with football field to rise in Marikina—Mayor Maan
Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro announced on Wednesday, Sept. 10, the upcoming construction of a town center that will feature a football field along with spaces for commerce and leisure to boost opportunities for local businesses.
Teodoro said she recently met with representatives from Federal Land, a major real estate developer in the country.
She said the development will include a FIFA-certified football field, which will be the first in the city. It will serve as a new hub for sports training and competitions for the youth.
Aside from this, the center will also offer leisure and retail spaces that will create more jobs and livelihood for Marikeños.
“Bukod dito, nakapaloob sa proyekto ang resilient land use, shared community spaces, at tourism boost na magdadala ng mas aktibong pamumuhay, mas matibay na ekonomiya, at mas kilalang Marikina bilang weekend destination (The project also integrates resilient land use, shared community spaces, and tourism initiatives, paving the way for a more active lifestyle, a stronger economy, and the distinction of being the city considered as a prime weekend destination),” Teodoro said.
The mayor said the Marikina Town Center is part of the city’s continuing progress as an emerging hub for business, employment, and leisure that will contribute to the sustained development of all Marikeños.
