The suspect in the stabbing of a student in Quiapo, Manila has surrendered to authorities.

The suspect, identified by the police as Richard Francisco, 52, a resident of 507 CP Garcia Street, Barangay 112, Tondo, Manila, turned himself in at Barbosa Police Station, located along A. Bautista Street corner Escaldo Street at 10:55 p.m. on Sept. 22.
Francisco was accompanied by his son, Mark Vincent Francisco, and escorted by Lt. Cleveland K. Mananghaya, along with PS-14 Intelligence operatives.
During the surrender, Francisco confessed to stabbing the victim, a 15-year-old male Grade 10 student from Taguig City.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 21, at the corner of CM Recto Avenue and Quezon Boulevard, Barangay 391, Quiapo, Manila.
Upon his surrender, Francisco was apprised of his constitutional rights but chose to remain silent.
He underwent a medical examination at Ospital ng Sampaloc before being brought back to the police station.
The suspect will be turned over to the Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Section for proper investigation and further legal proceedings.
Francisco is set to be presented to Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno" Domagoso at the City Hall.
