DAVAO CITY – Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte lashed anew out at President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, after Vice President Sara Duterte accused Philippine government agents of abusing consular procedures to carry out what she called “sham ‘welfare checks” on former President Rodrigo Duterte at The Hague.
The lawmaker's sister said she received “disturbing information from Malacañang” that a report on the former President was submitted to Marcos by the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, alleging that officials entered the detention unit under the pretense of performing welfare checks on FPRRD.
"Pinatay mo nalang sana si PRRD para mawala yang pagka praning mo...’Yan lang ba kinayang isipin ng utak mo? (You might as well have killed PRRD so your paranoia would go away…is that the only thing your brain can think of?)" Rep. Duterte said, referring to the President.
Rep. Duterte warned Marcos of public backlash should the government pursue action against the former Chief Executive.
He also called Marcos the “worst, most corrupt, and most hated president of this country.”
"Do you think people will be quiet if you imprison PRRD? You will go down as the worst, most corrupt, and most hated president of this country, and we, the people, will make sure that you will answer for that," Rep. Duterte said, teasing Marcos as a crazy bastard.
Vice President Duterte asserted that the family — not the government — will take care of former President Duterte, and criticized the administration for failing to conduct welfare checks for other detained or distressed Overseas Filipinos. “We, Filipinos, deserve better,” she added.
