Marcos names former SC spokesperson as ICI executive director

President Marcos has named lawyer Brian Keith Hosaka as the executive director of the newly-formed Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Malacañang made the announcement on Wednesday night, Sept. 24, the same day Marcos designated Hosaka.
His appointment letter was also transmitted to ICI Chairperson Andres Reyes Jr. on Wednesday.
"I am pleased to transmit the appointment letter of Mr. Brian Keith Fernandez Hosaka as Executive Director, Independent Commission for Infrastructure, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos," the letter signed by Executive Secretary Luca Bersamin stated.
Hosaka will be joining Reyes, the commission's chief, and members former Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson and former Procurement Policy Board-Technical chairperson Rossana Fajardo.
Under Executive Order (EO) No. 94, which created the ICI, Hosaka will hold the rank of undersecretary, tasked with managing its day-to-day operations.
ICI is a powerful fact-finding body tasked to investigate corruption and irregularities in flood control and other public works projects.
Hosaka was the spokesperson of the Supreme Court and also served as the commissioner of the Governance Commission for government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) under the Marcos administration.
Hosaka studied in the Ateneo de Manila University from elementary to law school, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1998. After passing the 1998 Bar Examinations, Hosaka worked as law clerk in the Supreme Court.
He was a founding partner of the Paner Hosaka & Ypil Attorneys-at-Law. He also once served as Deputy General Counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
