BACOLOD CITY – A 34-year-old man allegedly involved in a love triangle was killed in Purok Mars, Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Police Lt. Ildefonso Leonardo, deputy commander of Police Station 8, identified the victim as Paul, a resident of Barangay Alijis here.
Investigation said the victim was accompanying his 24-year-old live-in partner to Barangay Singcang-Airport to borrow money from her aunt.
However, they were sighted by the suspect, identified only as Parcon, and heated argument erupted. Parcon drew a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and fled.
The victim was declared dead in a hospital. The murder weapon was not recovered.
Leonardo said the victim was convicted for a drug offense and was just released from jail last month. While the victim was in jail, his live-in partner and the suspect allegedly had an affair. The victim resumed his relationship with the woman after he was released.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and pursuit operation.
