After the announcement of his breakup with Julia Barretto earlier this week, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson has finally opened up about the cheating allegation involving him and volleyball player Vanie Gandler.
The actor reached out to showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz via phone call to clarify the issue.
According to Diaz in his vlog, posted on YouTube on Monday, September 22, Gerald denied knowing Vanie personally.
(First of all, he clarified that Vanie Gandler was not the reason [for the breakup]. He said that this Vanie Gandler issue has been going on for a long time but there is absolutely no truth to it)
Gerald reiterated that he doesn't personally know Vanie, and they don't have any communication at all. Although he mentioned that he watches the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) where Vanie plays.
(Gerald further said that the reason for the split was altogether different, and he also takes the blame for the breakup, but Gerald did not elaborate)
Ogie further noted that Gerald is deeply hurt by all the negative comments he has been receiving from netizens.
The breakup was officially announced to the public on Sept. 18 by their respective talent agencies.
As of this writing, Julia and Vanie are yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
