ILOILO CITY — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recognized its 10 outstanding stakeholders in the Visayas.
BSP Monetary Board Member Benjamin “Ben” Diokno and Deputy Gov. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat led the 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders appreciation ceremony for the Visayas in Iloilo City on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
“This affirms that nation-building is never the work of just a single organization. It is a shared undertaking made possible by enduring partnerships—which, to me, are among the true foundations of progress,” said Diokno in his keynote address.
The recognized BSP-supervised financial institutions were:
- Cash Operations Unit of Land Bank of the Philippines (Land Bank)-Iloilo
- Land Bank-Dumaguete City Branch
- Land Bank-Tacloban City Branch
- Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank)-Cebu Fuente Osmeña Center
- Metrobank-Roxas City Branch
- Card Bank Inc.-Roxas Branch
Honored under the industry associations category:
- Cebu Bankers Club
- Tacloban Bankers Association Inc.
The local government unit (LGU) of Talisay City in Negros Occidental was recognized as BSP’s key government partner.
For the private institutions category, the BSP recognized Perpetual Help Community Cooperative of Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental province.
Meanwhile, Diokno launched his book “Leading the BSP in the Pandemic” during the occasion.
The book details how BSP, under Diokno’s leadership as governor, was able to maintain the country’s economic and financial stability during the pandemic.
Diokno, a former secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), lauded Iloilo’s proactive response during the pandemic.
