33-year-old man kills family, self in Batangas

CUENCA, Batangas – A 33-year-old man shot and killed his wife and 10-year-old son then himself in Barangay Don Juan, this town, on Sunday, Sept. 21.
People in the area heard gunshots and discovered the victims.
Initial investigation said the man was allegedly suffering from depression. The man and his family were not residents of the area and just taking a walk.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard rescued an 11-year-old from drowning at Port of Dinahican in Infanta, Quezon on Monday, Sept. 22.
The boy went reportedly swimming amid challenging sea conditions. He received first aid and declared in stable condition and turned over to his parents.
The Coast Guard reminded people to closely supervise children while swimming.
An octogenarian woman was found dead with a plastic bag over her head on Monday morning, Sept. 22, in Barangay Prinza, Calauan, Laguna.
Police said the victim Felicidad failed to open her store, prompting residents to check and found her lifeless in the living room of her house.
Investigation is ongoing.
