House Infrastructure Committee (infra comm) overall chairman, Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon is ready and willing to attend hearings of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) .
With the ICI now conducting nearly daily hearings and inspections, Ridon, who led two full-blown public hearings on the flood control projects corruption scandal, is willing to lend a hand to the Palace-created body.
"Ready naman humarap pag pinatawag (We're ready to face them if we get summoned)," he told reporters Monday, Sept. 23.
The same day, Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo "Ping" Lacson, chairman of Senate Blue Ribbon Committee; and Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III attended a hearing of the ICI at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City.
Like the infra comm, the Blue Ribbon panel has also been carrying out an inquiry in aid of legislation on anomalous or "ghost" flood control projects.
Also on Monday, House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III said that the infra comm should conclude its investigation and let the ICI take over.
To this, Ridon said: "We will consult with Speaker Faustino ‘Bojie’ Dy III this week regarding the direction of the new leadership on the House Infrastructure Committee."
"We defer to his current pronouncement directing the submission of reports, transcripts, and documents to the ICI," added the lawyer-solon.
The ICI is chaired by retired Supreme Court (SC) Justice Andres Reyes Jr.
