The Malabon City government distributed food packs to 14 families and 40 individuals in Barangay Dampalit who were affected by Typhoon Nando on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the distribution at the Dampalit Integrated Schools where food packs and non-food pack essentials were given to the affected families.
She also emphasized that every Malabueño should feel the support of the local government in rebuilding their lives and strengthening their communities and disasters.
“Hindi nag-iisa ang bawat Malabueño sa panahon ng pagsubok. Kasama ninyo ang lokal na pamahalaan sa pagbangon at pagpapatatag ng ating komunidad (Every Malabueño is not alone in times of trials. The local government stands with you in rebuilding and strengthening our community),” Sandoval said.

The local government said there are currently three evacuation centers in the city. These are located in Barangay Dampalit, Barangay Tinajeros, and Barangay Maysilo.
Alongside relief distribution, the mayor also visited the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) command center to oversee ongoing operations and monitor the work of disaster response teams amid the typhoon’s onslaught.

Sandoval emphasized the importance of strong coordination and swift action to ensure the safety and preparedness of residents, noting that these measures highlight its commitment to improving services for the community.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant, observe safety measures, and work together to ensure a safer Malabon in the face of calamities.
