Robert Jordan, a financial whiz who plays golf for a hobby, won the Fore-sight, On Course golf invitational championship of Newgen Software for the second straight year recently after leaving the field in his wake at Wack Wack's West course.
The 61-year-old, the CEO of Asialink Finance, fired a gross one-over-par 73 to handily win the overall title over Nick Jorge, who settled for the Class A crown in the well-attended Pulse Manila 2025 celebration of Newgen.
Jorge of Asean Business Partners returned a net 68 off a gross of 78.
"I was the first to be surprised that I scored that low," Jordan, a Forest Hills member, said after mixing four birdies with five bogeys over the well-manicured course in Mandaluyong.
"It was a fun day with some familiar faces I also saw last year," added the champion last year at Manila Southwoods.
A big number of business partners and executives of Newgen were in attendance for a full day of fun that started on the course, with Jeanine Co ruling the Ladies division after shooting an 85 for a Systems 36 net score of 69.
"We had a blast and we are looking to do it again next year--with more of the same faces and at a different course," said Jun de Dios, the Philippines Business partner of Newgen who organized the event together with Bong Lopez.
Virender Jeet, the CEO of Newgen Software, ruled the Class B division after shooting an 87 for a 71, with Ruben Lugtu of Asialink checking in second with a level 72.
Bernice Junghan was second to Co after 73.
