Calayan, Babuyan Claro Islands sustain heavy damage from 'Nando'

Super typhoon "Nando" inflicted heavy damage on Calayan and Babuyan Claro Islands as it passed on Monday.
Photos shared by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office Tuesday showed schools, houses, seacraft, and equipment destroyed by the howler in the two islands.
Photos also showed people starting cleanup of debris and assessing damage.
The provincial government is arranging assistance for storm victims.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Region 2 and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) have sent 6,000 family food packs to affected individuals.
The PSWDO is being assisted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army (PA), Philippine Marines (PM), and Provincial Engineers Office (PEO).
