Jason Paul Laxamana, director of the movie "Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para kay Luna," said it was an honor to direct Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga, who he describes as "stars in the making."
"They are stars in the making. It's an honor na gawan sila ng pelikula. Kung ano yung magic na dinadala nila on screen, I am excited for everyone to witness that magic," said Jason Paul, who also wrote the screenplay of the film, during a recent media conference in Quezon City.
Describing the chemistry of Ashtine and Andres, collectively known as AshDes, Jason Paul said, "On and off-screen, they have chemistry. Sa movie, kapag romance ang genre, so dapat ilabas mo yung magic nila. That's the least of my worries. Kaya na nila yun."
The director also said the "Minamahal" team is excited about the block screenings abroad.
"Tuloy ang block screening sa US, Canada, and the Middle East.Yung ibang countries talaga kinakalampag ako na mag screening din sa kanila. Malakas ang global following nila. (The block screenings continue in the US, Canada, and the Middle East. I'm really excited for other countries to screen there as well. They have a strong global following)," the director added.
Ashtine, 26, shared what fans could learn about love and being in a relationship.
"For me, I want them to know the lesson na kapag nagmamahal ka, sige ibigay mo lahat pero huwag mong kakalimutan na magtira sa sarili mo. (For me, I want them to know the lesson that when you love, go ahead and give it your all, but don't forget to save some for yourself)," said Ashtine.
Andres, 23, mentioned that the 'Minamahal' team is currently organizing their schedules for screenings abroad, as he hopes that he and Ashtine can join them.
The son of actor Aga Muhlach and beauty queen Charlene Gonzales also wished to have a screening in Madrid, Spain, where he lived and studied.
Andres said that he would take Ashtine to Retiro Park should there be a chance for the team to visit Madrid. "It's a famous park in Madrid, and it's beautiful. Basta, I will tour her around. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity (to visit Madrid)."
Ashtine mentioned what she recently discovered about Andres.
"What I discovered about Andres is sobrang nakakatawa pala siya. Noon kasi kapag may joke siya, dapat ko pang kilitiin ang sarili ko. Pero ngayon lumabas na yung goofy side niya. Effortless na siya kung magpatawa. (What I discovered about Andres is that he's so funny. Before, when he had a joke, I had to tickle myself. But now his goofy side has come out. He's effortless when it comes to making people laugh)," she said.
Andres shared what he likes most about Ashtine. "Para sa akin, noon pa lang, I learned a lot of things about Ashtine. I know her character na. She's genuine. Kapag may conversations kami sa set, I really enjoy talking to her. (For me, right then, I learned a lot of things about Ashtine. I know her character already. She's genuine. When we have conversations on set, I really enjoy talking to her.)"
Produced by Viva Films, the film "Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para kay Luna" will be shown in cinemas nationwide on Sept. 24.
