LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Police Regional Office-3 reported Monday that demonstrations commemorating the 53rd anniversary of martial law on Sept. 21 in Central Luzon were generally peaceful.
PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said authorities maintained close coordination with local government officials and civic leaders for calm and orderly protest actions.
Meanwhile, the PRO-3 said 13 police officers from Central Luzon were injured in protest rallies in Mendiola, Manila.
They were promptly treated and now in stable condition.
“We stand in solidarity with our injured personnel and commend their dedication and bravery in the line of duty. PRO-3 will provide all necessary assistance to ensure their recovery and well-being,” Peñones said.
