Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa students who attended Mendiola rally safe
Students of the city-run Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMUn) who attended the anti-corruption rally in Mendiola on Sept. 21 were accounted for and safe.
This was announced by the PLMun University Student Council on Sept. 22 after it issued an alert on Sept. 21 based on “circulating reports of an open fire incident in the area, which has raised serious concerns about the safety and whereabouts of some students.”
“As of this time, there are students who have not yet been confirmed to be safely home. To address this situation, the USC is initiating a unified monitoring effort to account for all students who may still be stranded or missing. We are respectfully requesting the assistance of student organizations, class representatives, concerned peers and individuals to immediately check on your departments, colleges, and respective blocks,” the student council said on Sept. 21.
It asked students to submit details through a Google form. A total of 150 individuals submitted responses.
“As of this morning, September 22, 2025, we are relieved to report that all PLMunians previously unaccounted for after the rally— and all students who responded to our monitoring form— have now been confirmed safe and in contact with their families,” the student council said.
It added, “A total of 150 individuals submitted responses. While not all were rally participants, every student who provided information through the form has now been verified safe. Please note, however, that this update only accounts for those who responded, and it is still possible that there were attendees who did not fill out the form. And not all respondents were participants in the rally— some simply filled out the form.”
“Nonetheless, we are grateful to report that every respondent has been verified to be safe and in contact with their families,” it said.
The student council said, “The University Student Council sincerely thanks our student organizations, class representatives, and fellow PLMunians who promptly extended their time and effort to check on the welfare of our students. Your vigilance and compassion ensured that, as far as our data could reach, no one was left behind.”
