Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said emergency responders are on standby to provide services amid the expected heavy rains due to the southwest monsoon.
“Tuloy pa rin ang trabaho ng ating mga emergency responders—rescue teams, health workers, peace and order personnel—na nakaalerto at handang magserbisyo sa gitna ng anumang sitwasyon (The work of our emergency responders—rescue teams, health workers, peace and order personnel—is still ongoing, alert and ready to serve in the midst of any situation),” the mayor said.
On Sept. 21, Biazon announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels in public and private schools for Sept. 22 before Malacañang Palace made the announcement suspending work and classes in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
The mayor based his decision on the expected heavy rains brought about by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Super Typhoon “Nando.”
“Pinapayuhan ang lahat na manatiling ligtas at makinig sa mga susunod na anunsyo mula sa lokal na pamahalaan. Para sa anumang emergency, tumawag sa Hotline Number 137-175 (Everyone is advised to stay safe and listen to further announcements from the local government. For any emergency, call Hotline Number 137-175),” he said.
In an advisory on Sept. 22, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that “as of 8:00 AM today, 22 September 2025, Super Typhoon ‘NANDO’ {international name ‘RAGASA’} is still being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).”
“Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 09f) is still being monitored outside the PAR and has a ‘medium’ potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours,” it added.
