Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has called on the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of National Defense (DND) to assist in an urgent nationwide validation of flood control projects.
In letters dated Sept. 11 and addressed to DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla and DND Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro, Jr., Dizon cited President Marcos' directive to investigate alleged anomalies involving government personnel.
He stressed the need to verify the status and integrity of ongoing projects across the country.
The appeal follows Marcos’ instruction to ensure the proper use of public funds.
Dizon noted that cooperation from the DILG, Philippine National Police (PNP), DND, and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is vital to uphold accountability and restore public trust.
The letters specifically requested the assistance of locally stationed personnel, including PNP and AFP units, to support the validation and safeguard communities at risk of flooding.
“To this end, I respectfully request the assistance of your personnel to support the validation process,” Dizon wrote.
He emphasized that collaboration from the DILG and DND is essential to ensure transparency and protect the welfare of vulnerable communities.
