TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Police Regional Office-2 is on alert and ready for super typhoon ‘’Nando’’ in the Cagayan Valley region.
PRO-2 Director Police Brig. Gen. Roy Parena said their Reactionary Standby Support Force and search, rescue, and retrieval teams are on standby for immediate response.
He assured that search and rescue assets of PRO-2 are sufficient and ready for any emergency response.
Parena urged residents to monitor the typhoon.
“We don’t need to wait for the typhoon's onslaught before we act on it. Instead, we need to prepare ahead the coming of the typhoon to further ensure the safety of every residents in the region. We need to be alerted and be prepared for our safety,” said Parena.
Strong rains have been felt in Cagayan province.
Provincial and local disaster risk reduction and management offices have already pre-positioned food packs and non-food items for relief operations. (With a report from Freddie Lazaro)
