BGYO makes impressive strides in global music scene

P-pop group BGYO continues to make headway in the global music scene as the only Filipino performer at the recent Summer Sonic Bangkok 2025. The Filipino male group was thrilled to represent the Philippines at Japan's biggest music festival, held at IMPACT Challenger Hall in Bangkok, Thailand, on Aug. 23-24.
The festival featured global acts Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Black Eyed Peas, BABYMETAL, and more. BGYO members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate performed their latest single “Headlines,” “The Light (Thai version),” “Heartstrings,” and “All These Ladies,” which reached the Spotify PH’s Viral top 50. They also sang their Filipino songs “Andito Lang” and “Gigil.”
The Summer Sonic gig was BGYO’s second visit to Thailand this year, following the group’s guest appearance at Boss CKM’s “Dream Warrior Concert” in July, where they performed “Heartstrings” and “All These Ladies.”

Apart from their explosive appearances in Thailand, the group was also one of the Kapamilya acts that rocked "ASAP England," held on Aug. 30 at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, BGYO has released the performance video for “Headlines,” which earned positive feedback from netizens.

“World class talent for BGYO! This song is truly a remarkable masterpiece, a bop summer good vibes anthem for everyone! BGYO very talented at heart!!!,” according to a viewer on YouTube.
“The newest single Headlines, give me a 90's boyband vibes. Ganda ng sound ng BGYO. Very catchy. The visuals is superb. Of course, ang ggwapo! The choreo is sharp. Talagang hindi naninipid ang BGYO sa fans,” another said.
Also, BGYO is named a contender for the International Rising Artist category as the five-piece Filipino male group continues to make a name in the global music scene.
"We were surprised because this is our second time to be nominated. It simply reminds us to keep going. We are focused on our concert now and we're getting ready," said Nate, also a member of the group.
Last year, BINI won two Breaktudo Awards. The nation’s girl group was named International Breakthrough Artist and received the International Music Video of the Year award for "Cherry On Top."
BGYO also made waves in the BreakTudo Awards 2024 by winning the Music By New International Artist award for “Patintero.”Since 2016, BreakTudo Awards has been celebrating established personalities and emerging talents in the global music, entertainment, and pop culture scene.
This year’s winners will be decided through fan voting via vote.breaktudoawards.com until Oct. 10 and will be announced during the BreakTudo Awards 2025 ceremony on Nov. 18.
The group is set to headline “BGYO: The First Solo Concert” happening on Oct. 4 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Tickets are available via Ticketnet.
Asked how they feel about their first solo concert, JL said, "Medyo kinakabahan kami kasi nga first solo concert. But we're excited to showcase what we have learned so far. We want to show them sino na ang BGYO ngayon," said JL.
"We're excited for the new songs," added Mikki.
Preparing for the concert, Gelo said that the group is working hard to come up with a good show for their fans.
"Gusto kong i-highlight kung paano kami magwork as a group. Kahit na we have different opinions and ideas, at the end of the day, we are a team. We come up with one answer para sa ginagawa ng group. (I want to highlight how we work as a group. Even though we have different opinions and ideas, at the end of the day, we are a team. We come up with one answer for what the group is doing)," Gelo added.
