500 Central Luzon cops deployed to secure martial law anniversary
The Police Regional Office-3 mobilized more than 500 personnel to assist in securing the martial law anniversary in Manila on Sunday, Sept. 21.
The contingent was composed of personnel from Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 and the provincial and city police offices of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Angeles City.
The deployment aligns with the seven focus agenda of acting Chief PNP, Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, particularly the management of all activities and events, on all levels, and crowd control.
PRO-3's action ensures that public safety is upheld while respecting the people’s constitutional right to peaceful assembly.
More than 200 personnel are on standby at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-3 headquarters for immediate reinforcement.
PRO-3 personnel were deployed across Central Luzon to man border control points, strengthen police visibility, and sustain other law enforcement operations to ensure community security.
PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. assured the public of balanced law enforcement during the anniversary events.
“We have prepared extensively for these mass gatherings. While we remain firm in protecting communities against any disturbance, we likewise uphold and respect the constitutional rights of our fellow citizens to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.”
