LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Police Regional Office-2 is on full alert for the martial law anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 21, in the Cagayan Valley region.
Large gatherings are expected.
The PRO-2 said 2,957 police personnel have been deployed to checkpoints, border control areas, and police visibility zones in activity centers in major cities and towns.
They are backed by reactionary standby support forces and civil disturbance management teams.
Police reminded the public to maintain discipline and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure a safe commemoration.
Lawmen were instructed to coordinate with organizations that will hold gatherings and educational forums to ensure that the flow of activities will be conducted in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
“Our goal is to ensure a peaceful commemoration of the anniversary of martial law. Our police are ready to maintain order and respond to any security threats,” said PRO-2 chief Police Brig. Gen. Roy Parena.
