JP Pining's 10th exhibition, 'Retrospect,' to open at Secret Fresh Gallery

Manila-based visual artist JP Pining marks a milestone with his 10th solo exhibition, RETROSPECT, opening September 28, 2025, at Secret Fresh Gallery, Ronac Art Center, San Juan.

Known for his bold fusion of fine art, geometric shapes, and colorful design, Pining revisits the icons of the 80s and 90s—from superheroes and anime to cartoons—in a body of work that transforms nostalgia into reflection. Each piece reimagines familiar imagery, offering audiences a lens into how pop culture continues to shape memory, identity, and creativity.

“RETROSPECT is about looking back while moving forward,” says Pining. “These characters aren’t just nostalgia—they’re symbols of resilience, imagination, and the stories that raised us.”

With RETROSPECT, JP Pining celebrates a decade of solo exhibitions, reaffirming his place as a visionary figure in contemporary Filipino art.
