BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region arrested a truck driver in Barangay Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Sept. 19, for allegedly sexually molesting his niece.
Police served an arrest warrant for rape through sexual assault against the 21-year-old suspect, a truck driver and considered as the region’s fifth most wanted person.
The suspect was tagged as the third and second most wanted person on the provincial level and city level, respectively.
The warrant was issued by a court in Bago City which recommended a P180,000 bail for the suspect.
Police urged the community to stay alert and actively support law enforcement by immediately reporting any suspicious or unlawful behavior.
Meanwhile, five persons, including a biker, were injured after a truck loaded with sacks of rice husks plunged into a canal in Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Police said the truck driven by a 48-year-old man reportedly lost control and swerved to the right side of the road and damaged the barrier.
A 58-year-old biker passing by the area was injured after the vehicle’s load fell on the highway and hit him.
The truck driver and his three passengers were taken to a hospital.
