BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Offices 10 and 13 are on alert for rallies on Sept. 21 against alleged corruption in flood control projects.
“All field units are on standby to ensure peace and order during mass action that will reportedly take place on Sunday, Sept. 21,” said PRO-13 and PRO-10 information officers Police Majors Jennifer S. Ometer and Joan G. Navarro, respectively.
PRO-13 mobilized 1,708 police personnel for deployment in the Caraga region, particularly the regional capital Butuan. PRO-10 prepared 3,400 police personnel for areas of convergence in Northern Mindanao.
Personnel will be assigned to checkpoints, traffic assistance, fixed visibility posts, and patrols.
In addition, Civil Disturbance Management, Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF), and drone operators will be mobilized to strengthen monitoring, rapid response, and overall security coverage.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Rolindo M. Suguilon and PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV said that their role is not only to maintain peace and order but also to safeguard the constitutional right of every individual to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
