President Marcos has awarded agricultural and residential land titles to 455 farmer beneficiaries in Luzon.
Marcos turned over agricultural and residential free patents and special patents to farmer beneficiaries from Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Metro Manila during a distribution event in San Fernando City, Pampanga on Friday, Sept. 19.
In distributing the land titles, Marcos urged the beneficiaries to continue to put the land they now legally own into productive use.
"Gawin ninyong produktibo ang inyong lupain (Make your land productive)," Marcos told the beneficiaries.
"Gamitin ito nang tama para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino, para sa ating mga komunidad, at para sa kinabukasan ng ating minamahal na Pilipinas ( Use it properly for every Filipino family, for our communities, and for the future of our beloved Philippines)," he added.
He stressed that "the responsible use of land will yield a prosperous life for all of us."
He also told them that they are working hand in hand with the local government, the Land Registration Authority (LRA), and the Registry of Deeds for the proper registration process for the beneficiaries.
Under the Handog Titulo Program, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) grants land ownership rights to qualified beneficiaries by issuing patents or titles to public lands for residential or agricultural use to individuals who have occupied and cultivated the lands for many years.
"Layunin ng Handog Titulo Program na palakasin ang partisipasyon ng mamamayan sa pangangalaga ng kalikasan (The goal of the Handog Titulo Program is to strengthen the participation of citizens in caring for the environment)," the President said.
"Hindi lang kayo o tayo ang makikinabang sa mga benepisyong ito, pati na rin ang mga anak natin at ang mga susunod na henerasyon na Pilipino (Not only you or we will benefit from these gains, but also our children and the next generations of Filipinos)," he added.
The President also said the DENR has turned over deeds of sale to 65 beneficiaries from four villages in Taguig City.
He also led the distribution of financial assistance of P10,000 each to 2,970 farmer beneficiaries and family food packs as additional support to their families.
