3 killed, 9 hurt in bus-truck collision in Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – A driver and two of his passengers were killed and nine others were injured in head-on collision between a truck and bus in Barangay Bued, Calasiao, Pangasinan, on Thursday night, Sept. 18.
Investigation said the truck attempted to overtake a motorcycle but encroached on the lane of the bus, resulting in a direct crash.
The truck driver and three passengers were trapped and sustained severe injuries.
They were taken to a hospital where the driver and two passengers were declared dead. Their minor companion sustained injuries and recovering in a hospital.
The bus driver, Jonathan Fernandez Gemeniano, 44, and seven passengers were also injured and treated in a hospital.
Both vehicles sustained undetermined amount of damage and under the custody of the Calasiao police station.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
