DAVAO CITY – The provincial government of Sultan Kudarat is gearing up for the Kalimudan Festival 2025 in November.
The week-long festival, one of the most anticipated in Central Mindanao region, is a cultural celebration in Sultan Kudarat that highlights its rich cultures and traditions.
Kahar Dalaten, executive assistant to Gov. Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu, said that this year’s Kalimudan Festival will keep its cultural roots while adding new attractions.
“This Kalimudan is not only a time to honor our culture and history, it is also a chance to bring people together and show the best of Sultan Kudarat,” said Dalaten.
He added that festival organizers have assured that it would showcase new features to provide a more engaging and interactive experience among local and foreign tourists.
The provincial government hinted that the festival might also feature some local and foreign acts.
Dalaten said that full details will be announced during the grand media launch set in the coming weeks. “With all the preparations underway, we are ready to make Kalimudan 2025 a celebration worth remembering.”
Kalimudan is derived from the Maguindanaoan word for "coming together" or "gathering."
The festival, which also coincides with the province’s 52nd founding anniversary on Nov. 22, is also a thanksgiving celebration that showcases the vibrant culture of the province.
Kalimudan Festival was launched in 1999 during the term of Gov. Pakung “Pax” Mangudadatu, the grandfather of the incumbent governor.
