Under the lights at Space at One Ayala last Sept. 14, OPM act Lola Amour delivered a performance that balanced intimacy with spectacle. Even as the skies over Makati threatened rain, fans arrived early and packed the venue, their energy palpable long before the band struck their first chord.
The concert doubled as the official launch of their sophomore album "Love On Loop," and the eight-piece band made sure it would be remembered. With opening sets from slack-rock veterans The Itchyworms, indie-folk favorites The Ridleys, and rising girl group Kaia, the night already felt like a celebration of contemporary Filipino music before Lola Amour even took the stage.
The show itself was framed by a loose narrative: a love story told through visuals of a boy and girl traveling through airports, departures, and arrivals, which served as metaphors for the turbulence of relationships. It was a playful device that threaded through the entire set, complete with tongue-in-cheek “captain” announcements guiding the audience through the journey.
In a press conference held before the event, the band shared their creative process behind both the album and the concert. “Last time we did this, we had one month. For this one, we gave ourselves four months because we wanted to try new things,” they explained, joking about how they were more “in control” this time and laughingly promising they’d do it again for future shows.

On songwriting, they added: “Every song is a personal experience. For the first time, sobrang personal ng story because of the way we wrote it, where we sat down and talked about ano ba yung pinagdadaanan ng bawat member. (The story is so personal because of the way we wrote it, where we sat down and talked about what each member was going through.)"
That personal storytelling came alive in the live arrangements. The extended opener The End set the tone immediately, morphing from a 25-second album prelude into a full-blown stage ritual, complete with five dancers performing choreographies for each and every track, a detail the band had teased earlier and was worth the hype.
From there, the concert leapt into "The Moment," featuring Kokoro of Psychic Fever, a collaboration that felt both international and deeply personal to Lola Amour. The city-pop shimmer gave way to the disco-inspired One Day Away, with guest Barb. Joining in to turn the hall into a dance floor.
The concert’s midsection offered a dramatic contrast. "Did My Time" swelled with a cathartic bridge that felt almost like a musical exhale before the cheeky Misbehave let everyone cut loose with bouncing basslines and playful energy.
Things slowed down for the tender "With You," then picked up again with "Dance With My Mistakes," a crowd favorite that became an anthem. The band closed the main set with the bossa-nova-tinged title track "Love On Loop," a fitting finale that left fans both fulfilled and desperate to hit replay.
But Lola Amour wasn’t finished. Returning for an encore, the band delivered their biggest hits such as "Raining in Manila", "Pwede Ba?", and "Fallen", before surprising the crowd with covers of Daft Punk’s "One More Time", and Bonnie Bailey’s "Ever After," again with Barb and Gelato alongside Kokoro.
They even tackled Zedd’s "Clarity" with guest vocalist Sofia Abrogar of Any Name’s "Okay," before closing once more with "Raining in Manila," this time with the addition of a sing-along of pure gratitude.
By the end of the night, after heartfelt thanks to their families, sponsors, and crew, Lola Amour had done more than launch an album; they had created a shared journey. Love On Loop live was proof that the band isn’t just riding their wave of success, but actively shaping where it flows next. They’ve certainly got our love on loop.
